Best way to fish flies from a spin rod. Thead this through your mainline, tie a swivel on the end as a stopper, add 5~6ft leader, and tie your fly on the end. You're now fly fishing!! .24 layer height, 5 layers thick all round, 50% infill, should get you right on 8 grams. This should let it gently sink in the water. Scale it up or down for different weights: 5~10G for a light rod, 12~20G for a heavy rod.
