These three parts are to create a fishing rod wrapping lathe based entirely on aluminum extrusion. The parts are about 6" in height (5" in height from the bed). It does not include a lathe bed, you can purchase two raw aluminum extrusion bars to complete the bed.To complete this lathe, you will need : Headstock : - two 1 3/8" outside diameter flange bearings with an inside diameter of 1/2" - a 1/2" bar that will connect to your lathe chuck (or actually make a spindle) - a set collar for the back side of the spindle to anchor the spindle in place - a pulley and a motor that can connect to the pully Tailstock : - a tailstock ram (can easily be a bar of raw stock with the end drilled for a morse taper, or just a bar with a set screw through the side of the tailstock housing) Steady Rest : - aluminum bar stock to fit in the grooves, with a groove filed in the middle to allow them to slide (bearings on the ends of those arms if you wish) Spindle : - the spindle is designed with a 3/4-16 thread on one end, and 1/2"-13 LEFT HANDED on the other. This is done with variables, so you can change these as you prefer. Each of the above parts will need the screws and nuts to attach to two 1010-series aluminum extrusion (again, 1"x1") bars that make up the lathe "bed". Happy wrapping!
