I loved the spool holder designed by Creative Tools, but as I am in general using 1 kg spools, I was concerned about the friction on the shaft; that the force needed to pull filament from a full spool might over time overload the extruder motor. So I replaced the spool shaft with one from @kristofera's design (which is also a remix!), which has four bearings. Now my spool rotates without effort! You will need 4 pcs standard 608 type bearings. I printed it with auto "treelike" supports and brim. Maximum spool width is 80 mm. EDIT: The STL must be scaled to 10% to get the right size. NOTE: For a full spool holder as shown in the photos you also need this arm: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1967410
