Flat-Pack Phone Stand

Flat-Pack Phone Stand

thingiverse

A nifty foldable phone stand to delight your friends and confound your enemies. In your pocket, it's a flat packet roughly the size of your phone. But once it's on the table, the parts transform into a very sturdy stand. The back and shelf slide out of the base, clip together firmly, and then slide into the provided slots to provide either a 60- or 45-degree support. The base is printed as two pieces which snap together, though you'll probably want to use glue to keep the assembly as tight as possible. All parts print flat on the bed with 45-degree bevels, so no supports, rafts, or brims should be needed. Tolerances for interlocking parts are 0.4mm, which should work well with most printers. There's also a "snug" variant with 0.3mm tolerances if you trust your printer's accuracy. (I personally like a very firm shelf, so I use the standard top and bottom and the snug back and shelf.) With the looser version, you can even reduce to 85-90%, which will produce a more petite stand. (You'll probably want to increase your infill to 40% for smaller stands so that they hold up to your phone's weight. The full-sized version is solid as a rock at 15% infill.)
