Flat TARDIS Pattern (Xmas Tree Ornament) for a laser cutter

Since I wasn't fast enough to order the official, hand blown glass, TARDIS Xmas Tree ornament from the BBC America shop, I decided to head down to my local hackerspace and make one or two on the laser cutter. This started off as the "TARDIS Coloring" image by "Violet Succubus" on DeviantArt (http://fav.me/d310mxy). It was the cleanest, nicest, B&W line drawing of the TARDIS from head-on I could find. There was much fiddling, adding to, filtering and re-drawing by myself and two guys (both named "Matt") at my hackerspace, but many of those lines are still hers and for them I thank her. I don't think it would have come out as nice as it did without such a solid place to start from. PS - Yes, I know. The windows are wrong. I'll get to it, but until then I'm calling this version done. :D Instructions The red line is the cut line. The green lines (the text and the St. John's Ambulance emblem) should be set to raster. Rather then rastering the black lines (which causes them to come out too thin and not look so great), vector them and set the Z access down a little to defocus the laser (this will create a thicker, better looking, line for the details of the panels and such). Make sure you don't vector the green lines, as all that fine detail in the St. John's emblem will be drawn out by the laser and the end result will be very deep, if not all the way through your object (depending on thickness). The level of detail you'll get in the emblem is... Well, I'm really quite chuffed about it frankly. If you want to make it an Xmas Tree ornament, I would suggest printing it at 3" - 4" tall. You could probably put the hole for the string/hook in the lamp at the top, but I suggest you consider putting it on either end of the first "step" of the roof. Actually, I only put it in one side of the first step of the roof. Not only does it hang at a delightfully jaunty angle, but it's a little better for structural integrity.
