Flat Vise

Flat Vise

thingiverse

This Flat Vise can be used to hold odd-shaped components during painting, drilling, soldering, sanding, etc. The Vise can hold things externally as well as internally similar to a 4-Jaw Chuck. Its versatility is only limited by your imagination - and gripping power. The PRT file for the Button is included so that you can design similar Buttons with 'teeth' for gripping, or a V-groove to hold thin parts, or whatever you might need. This Flat Vise is similar to a tool called the Crab Parts Holder sold by Micro-Mark Tools. Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 200 Infill: 50 Notes: PLA, ABS, or Nylon material can be used. I used PLA for all printed parts. The printing duties was shared with my 3D Systems Cube - 3rd Gen. Post-Printing See attached Assembly Instructions. How I Designed This These components were designed in Creo 2.0 (Pro/E) The hardware used can be purchased at a local supply store like Ace Hardware or online from suppliers like McMaster-Carr. The four Pins that hold the Buttons can be dowel pins (as shown in the drawing) or tubing cut to size.
