This chess set design draws heavily from the book and its corresponding film adaptation of Abbott's novel Flatland. Its primary inspiration stems directly from these sources. The base itself features a chess board designed for individuals who appreciate unconventional aesthetics and the flexibility that comes with traveling on-the-go! The squares are layered in a way that conveys the unseen dimensions shapes can possess, which remain invisible to our three-dimensional perception. When you remove the playing board from the top, it can be stored underneath its supporting box, which also houses the playing figures. Each figure is based on characters from the novel and their visual interpretation was inspired by Flatland's film adaptation. The characters are organized into a strict hierarchy based on their number of dimensions and sides, with circles holding the highest tier due to their infinite sides and triangles at the lowest rung.
