Flexible Test - R2X Window Screw
thingiverse
In order to test the flexibility of the filament, an application was unclear. To solve a common issue with disappearing screws on a Replicator 2X's side window, the user created replacement screws using their 3D printer. By printing them simultaneously and increasing nozzle temperature to 120 degrees (a higher recommended value of 100 for PLA), cooling time for each layer was optimized due to flexible filament's increased viscosity during melting. After printing, the screws were inserted into the window's holes, heated with a hair dryer, and reshaped by hand before cooling for a proper fit.
