Drones are wonderful tools for exploring your environment with another perspective. Having drones require time and money investment, to put together the parts and accessories. Sometimes, your curiosity or a simple gust of wind will bring your toy a little too far, and then you will spend a lot of time looking for it. In extreme cases, unfortunately, it could be lost for good. This fear is the worst for all drone handler. Hey, why not adding a specific accessory to retrieve easily your drone? Since the sixties, all planes are equipped with flight recorder usually called "black boxes". The main idea of this accessory is to pair a GPS with a GSM chips inside the drone acting as a black box. This accessory will be able to localise in few seconds the drone with a precision of 5 meters with a simple smartphone. This concept is based more specifically on "TkStar K1368" (http://www.ebay.com/itm/TKSTAR-Mini-Waterproof-GSM-GPS-AGPS-Personal-Tracker-Tracking-System-Free-APP-/301292101471): a cheap waterproof GPS/GSM. Additionally, this tracker has a SOS function. When activated, a text message is sent to your phone number with the last GPS position of the drone. When the drone touch the ground, the SOS function is activated. Simple, easy, efficient and lightweight. The red color is not mandatory, but it helps to follow the drone during the fly and also improve ground search. This tracker needs to be properly maintained by two flexible tabs. These tabs cannot be easily obtained by other process than 3D Printer. 3D Printer allows to adapt parts easily for all drones without any molding. To embed this GPS, a shell will protect the equipment. The design of the rear foot is flexible. The power button and USB charging port remains always handy. To summarize, adding a black box to your drone just requires a GPS tracking and two other simple parts built with FDM nylon 12 (for example with Fathom 3D printer).
