Flite Test Power Pod

Flite Test Power Pod

thingiverse

Flite Test Style power pod I designed this to be printed with minimal overhangs, since I seem to suck at calibrating my printer for bridges. There are other lighter designs on thingiverse, but my printer doesn't print them well. if you can handle bridges, I'd suggest going with one of those for weight savings alone. All together this weighs around 125g at 15% infill and two steel locator pins The floor is a honeycomb pattern, if you want to route wires through to put the ESC on the underside for airflow. There is a spar down both walls with a hole for a 2mm rod, full length if you want to add strength, or just glue one side up to make locator pins to keep it lined up for glue. Two support rods are included, but I forgot about the included firewall support walls getting in the way. A small side cutter or xacto saw will take care of that if you wish to glue up the front. If anyone ends up seeing this Thing and wants me to update with the firewall already compatible, I could do that. I haven't done extensive durability testing, but it holds up to dropping on my garage floor after slipping out of my hand, and it is still in one piece after two or three crashes. I did have to reglue once, but that was more a result of bad glue joint than bad design. I think.
