Flone 1.0
thingiverse
Flone is a smartphone airframe designed for flying, with its maiden flight video available on YouTube. The original version 1.0 can be found at http://flone.cc, while the control app can be downloaded from Google Play Store. Required components include an Android smartphone, Multiwii controller, Mini Power Distribution Board, and are controlled by Bluetooth/DSM2. It features a well-balanced design with ample space for camera viewing. The airframe includes a tiny Flone PDB that integrates the airframe and XT60 power connector. For updates on improvements in both the airframe and Android app, visit http://flone.cc. This project was produced under the NEXT THINGS 2013: NEXT SPACE call, organized by Telefonica I+D and LABoral Centro de Arte y Creacion Industrial. To assemble, you'll need four motors, four ESCs, and a battery. Cut the frame using 5mm plywood, attach the flight controller, DSM2/Bluetooth to the electronic plate, solder Flone PDB, configure the flight controller, check motor directions, and finally add propellers before flying with your smartphone. Remember to prioritize safety during construction by attaching propellers last to avoid accidents. Enjoy!
