Floptical Faceplate

Floptical Faceplate

I prepared this as a face plate for an Insite I325VM Floptical drive. These are very rare but some can still be salvaged from SGI Indy workstations. However since they were integrated directly into the Indy system enclosure they do not have dedicated face plates. It also appears that the Floptical face plate dimensions are pretty close, if not identical, to standard 1.44MB Floppy Drives, so this design may work fine for standard floppy drives as well. I actually used a standard 1.44mb floppy face plate to get the initial dimensions, button, door, and LED placement and have compared this favorably with Alps, Panasonic, and Sony drive face plates.
