GrabCAD
Based on the Flow Simulation simulation on the Globe Valve, the flow of water and air experiences a change in direction when passing through the valve's internal path, resulting in a pressure drop and an increase in speed in the narrowing area around the valve seat. In water flows, pressure loss and turbulence tend to be greater due to the high fluid density, whereas in air flows these effects are relatively smaller although they still occur in the bend and outlet areas. Overall, globe valves are able to regulate flow rates well, but produce quite large flow resistance, causing higher energy losses compared to several other types of valves.
