Flower Box

For this project I created a wooden box with flower and spiral designs. The box is for decoration. Instructions To make this I used boxmaker.com to get a template for my 4 by 4 by 6 box. I then opened the document in Illustrator and changed the stroke of the paths to 0.001. Then I added images of flowers that had been Live Traced to help with the rastering. In Illustrator, I Live Traced the photo and adjusted the settings. Next, I created spirals on the two square sides. I sent the document to the CNC Laser with the following settings: DPI: 600 Raster Speed: 100 Raster Power: 50 Vector Speed:17 Vector Power:100 Vector Frequency: 500 Lastly, pop out each piece and glue them together. If I were to do this project over I would make the rastering darker.
