Flower Spring

Flower Spring

I made this spring to take the place of a steel wave spring in a customer's printed assembly. It works well for a functional demonstration for their prototype. I call it a “flower spring” but it is really a form of a belleville or finger spring. (Take precautions not to burn yourself) • Print the flat pattern and dies. • Heat up the spring flat pattern until pliable, do not melt it. o I used a heat gun set at 180°C, a hair dryer may work fine. • Place the spring flat pattern onto the lower die • Press the upper die down onto the spring to form it while it cools.
