Flush Cap for Engine Cooling System

Flush Cap for Engine Cooling System

thingiverse

This cap is engineered specifically to flush out the engine cooling system of a Ford F-150 powered by an eight-cylinder engine. When flushing through a tee in the heater hose, this directs the overflow from the coolant tank directly outside the engine compartment. It appears that this will likely fit all Fords equipped with either a six-cylinder or eight-cylinder engine and a coolant recovery tank. The cap may also fit other vehicles as well. It features a 50mm thread diameter and a 2.5mm pitch. If a Dorman 54208 replacement pressure cap fits your vehicle, then so will this one. This was printed in PLA with a 1.5mm shell thickness and performs exceptionally well, even when the engine is running. Although ABS may perform better with hot water, I have not had a chance to try it out yet. To complete this project, you will need a 1/2 inch PVC elbow and approximately 18 inches of PVC pipe. You should be able to press-fit the parts together without glue, allowing for easy disassembly when storing the unit.
