The other day I purchased a compact bottle containing a substance with a pungent aroma reminiscent of vinegar, which was adorned with a lid featuring several narrow slits. This peculiar design purportedly allowed it to capture fruit flies, allegedly because they were incapable of navigating their way back out. I had no intention of investing in such an expensive product again, so I decided to create a similar device that could be attached to a standard glass jar.
