Flying Pig Mobile: desktop or free hanging This is a flying pig mobile. This can be either a desktop mobile or a (simpler) free hanging mobile. The xml files used to create the geometry in BlocksCAD are also provided for the stand and arm, but not the flying pig and wing. --------------------------------------- FREE HANGING MOBILE PRINT INSTRUCTIONS FOR FREE HANGING MOBILE: piggies: - print 3 piggy bodies: flying_pig_140409a_x_0.4_flatfoot.stl - print 3 wings: wing_140411c_x_0.4.stl mobile arm: - print 1 mobile arm: mobile_arm_flying_pigs.stl ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE FREE HANGING MOBILE: - paint the piggy nose and ears red - paint the eyeballs white all over - paint the nostrils and eyeball pupils black - glue wing to piggy body - use strong black thread to attach piggies to mobile arms - attach strong thread to top of mobile arm - hang at a convenient location - black thread is recommend vs string so that the mobile can spin easier - to start the motion, gently spin the top of the mobile arm --------------------------------------- DESKTOP MOBILE: in addition to the steps for the free hanging mobile: ALSO PRINT: - base: stand_for_snowflake_mobile (28) base.stl - straight connector: stand_for_snowflake_mobile (31) con straight.stl - lower arm: stand_for_snowflake_mobile (27) lower arm.stl - curved connector: stand_for_snowflake_mobile (35) con curved.stl - upper arm: stand_for_snowflake_mobile (21) upper arm.stl ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS: - connect the lower arm to the base using the straight connector - connect the upper arm to the lower arm using the curved connector - hang the free hanging mobile from the hole at the top of the upper arm
