Flying Starship Model Rocket (With Two-Stage Version!)

thingiverse

This is a functional model of the SpaceX Starship and Superheavy Booster and runs on Estes A, B, or C engines! This model rocket is to scale with the life-size Starship and is composed of three parts: The fin can, the main body tube, and the Starship nose cone on top. I would launch this the first time with an Estes A engine and progress to B and C engines. Be sure to add some masking tape to the engines for better grip! For the two-stage version, you must put an Estes booster engine on the bottom and a regular Estes engine on top. The two-stage version is yet untested, so fly it at your own risk! To print this, you must choose either the SS (single-stage) or TS (two-stage version, which is as of yet untested) versions. I sliced this in PrusaSlicer and used the default PrusaMini 0.10mm profile. This model will need some support, especially for the Starship nose end. Also, add more infill to the Starship end (around >30% infill) of it for a better Center of Gravity. Note: Depending on what layer height you choose (≤0.15mm), you may not need to add supports to the fin can! Make sure you use a Model Rocket launch pad with a launch rod and blast deflector, e.g. Estes model rocket launch pad, Make sure you use a Model Rocket launch pad with a launch rod, e.g. Estes model rocket launch pad and launch controller. Don’t forget to post a make and share your launch photos! If you would like to modify this design, I have included a STEP file with both of the rockets. Enjoy!
