One of my RC flying buddies asked me to create a replacement engine cowl for his FMS 1700mm F7F Tigercat. One of the cowls had gotten damaged by a prop so I got the good one and modeled it up using Design Spark Mechanical. To get the shape I used a profile gage and then transferred the profile to graphing paper. After that I did some quick measurements for the diameter so that I could do a rotary extrusion. It worked like a charm. The only issue I had was that the mounting holes were not at 90 degrees from each other but more like 95.Weight wise they are almost the same as the originals. I just wish the silver filament was more silver and less gray. They can be painted.
