Foam Board cutter.
Safe, convenient and accurate cutting of 5mm foam board - every time.

Utilizes a standard utility blade (Stanley, for instance).

PETG, 0.2mm layer hieght. No supports, skirt or brim.
the base part is scaled 102% to allow the grip parts to slide in.
The side parts are scaled 101% to prevent blade movement.
These scaling factors are already embedded into the gcode and 3mf files.

POST PRODUCTION:
Open out the holes in the left hand side part with a 4mm drill.
Sand the under side of the base ultra-smooth. File the under-back of the base so it doesn't catch any supporting foam board piece (see photo) and sand smooth. Lightly sand the sides of the base so it runs smoothly against a straight edge. All this takes only a few minutes.
I filled the engraved lines on the sides of the base part with white paint (ie, a contrasting colour) to make them clearer.

ASSEMBLY..
.. could hardly be easier - place the blade CAREFULLY in the recess of the right hand part with the blades' notches snuggly against the two pins and press the right hand part on then slide it into the base part. Check the blade is located securely. It should project 5.5mm below the base. The closely fitting base means you don't need any screws or clamps to keep the whole thing together.

CUTTING FOAM BOARD:
Usethe engravings at the front/back of the cutter to align with the cut line. Use a scrap piece of foam board either end of the cut to keep the cutter stable and cut the workpiece on a spare length of foam board under the workpiece. Using a (self-healing)cutting mat makes it much harder to cut foam board due to the drag on the blade.

Use a straight edge against a side of the base.

There are engravings on the sides of the base part that line up with the point of the blade so you determine where your cut will start (handy for cutting apertures neatly).

SAFETY NOTE: When handling the cutter, please be aware at all times of the exposed blade under the cutter.

Regards, Paul
