Foam Boat

Foam Boat

thingiverse

This is a little boat I made out of some foam, and few things I found around the house. Instructions The pattern for the hull of the boat was cut out of a foam knee pad using a homemade CNC machine, but I have also made them by hand with a Dremel. The knee pad may be found at most garden or discount stores for approximately one dollar. The keel and rudder are made by cutting the gift/credit card, and using the template as a guide. Glue one penny to each side of the keel, at the bottom. Make two shallow cuts in the foam hull, on the bottom and back, to hold the keel and rudder, respectively. Make the sail by tracing the template and then cutting it out of the plastic bag. Attach the sail to the coffee stir with hot glue, and then insert it into the front hole in the hull. Fasten the rear of the sail to the hull by gluing the sail to a small toothpick, and then pushing it into the foam. Carefully apply hot glue in any areas that are loose.
