I decided to motorize my telescope and I'm updating many of the parts I had done a long time ago when I still had few tool options. My previous focuser was a helical model and made of Polyvinyl chloride. Today, with a lathe and a printer 3D, I can already leave for new challenges. It is possible to use 4 springs combined to the 4 M3 screws. So the grip will be smoother. In this case, change the M3x16 by x25mm, If decide to use the printed tube, i created it just for testing, you can use a piece of heat shrink tubing on the threaded rod to avoid scratching the tube body too much. 4 624zz bearing 2 MR105zz bearing 4 M3x16 screew (or 4x25 using springs) 4 M4x12 or 16 screew (i used 12mm stud) 1 M5x80 (or 90) threaded rod 2 M3 stud 6 M3 nut 2 M5 nut 1 1 1/4 (1/8 thickness) aluminum pipe Edited #1 The previous knob was oversized. Replaced by a 20mm.
