Duct housing for the brushless HAPPYMODEL 0802 motor of the MOBULA7 quadcopter, to be fitted as retractable fan unit on top of a R/C airplane. It acts as a self-retracting fan drive to power e.g. a flying wing model of up to 120g takeoff-mass (e.g. VTH PURI 65cm). Just assemble the brushless motor and 4-blade prop into the housing (use 3 pcs M1.4x4mm screws) and attach it with a M2.5 screw with stopnut to work as hinge. Using a 2s 280mAh lipo, this lifts the PURI easily and is even able to take off from snowy ground. No servo required, because the fan pulls the duct up if engaged, and it falls back by itself after the engine is switched off by air drag and engine mass - simple and safe! In folded position, the duct lays flat on top of the model and has only low air drag, so the gliding capabilities of the R/C model are not affected too much. 3D-PRINT: Printed on an ELEGOO Mars SLA printer with standard settings and green resin. The material remains stable even after full power operation of the engine. Good PETG or ABS material on an FDM printer could work as well, but be aware the motor will get hot during operation. Use 100% infill and support structures!
