Another very worthy addition to our range of Proper Music Coasters, and arguably one of the most contemporary of the bands I'm paying homage to. Yes, the Stones, Van Halen etc are still going but the Foos are very much the new guys of the bunch. But the talent. Oh the talent. First formed in 1994 by Dave Grohl, the drummer of the legendary Seattle band Nirvana, following the death of Kurt Cobain, the Foo Fighters was originally a solo project and Dave Grohl initially played all the instruments on the Foo Fighters' first self-titled album. Yes, he's a good guitarist, a decent bassist, an AMAZING drummer and a fantastic singer. I should hate him but I can't, because he's also second only to Brian May in the list of Nicest Guys in Rock. Since then, with a fully formed band, the Foos have gone on to worldwide success and a series of fantastic albums. Proper music, indeed. The coaster depicts the Foos' simple logo. It also has holes in the back for 3x5mm neodymium magnets (available separately in my store) so it can be retrofitted into a magnetic plaque or sign, or so it can be permanently mounted.
