Ford Zetec SE Spark Plug Water Leak Fix

This design has been available for a while and you can buy these plates from Ebay. There's even a Volvo version you can retrofit. This plate fixes the misfire problem you can get because water will leak past the bonnet seal for the washer jet, straight into the spark plug lead valley in the camcover. The water finds it's way into the spark plug wells, degrading the connection between the plug and the lead, hence a misfire. Also you get rusty spark plugs. So this fix diverts the water over the top of the camcover and harmlessly over the back of the engine. This fault is common to both Fiestas and Focus's with the Zetec SE engine series (1.25, 1.4 and 1.6 petrols) But all the options on Ebay are more than £20 for a cut flat sheet of aluminium or steel. What I hadn't found was the design, so taking measurements from the real car I created this model for you, as a template which of course you can customise.
