This is a group marble sculpture depicting a man in a woman's arms, the piece is 147.5 x 70.5 x 126 in dimension; on the top of the pedestal identifies the sculptor Pieter Braecke (Newport 1858 - Nossegem 1938), and the date of its completion. The piece titled Forgiveness (Dutch, De vergiffenis) depicts a man pleading for forgiveness, kneeled into a woman's arms who is folded over him. The expression within the piece and the detail of the faces in the sculpture is incredibly intense which contributes to the power of the sculpture.   This object is part of "Scan The World".
