Version 2 with lots of improvements: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2131666   The design is inspired by the antscanada.com ant nests. Unfortunatly the shipping costs to my country are way to high, so i designed my own formicarium for my Camponotus herculeanus ants. You can put some cotton in the base piece, stick the chamber on top of it and water the base piece from both sides (there are little holes in the walls), to regulate the humidity. The entrance blocks are for 12/16mm aquarium tubes. I separeted them, so you can design your own entrance blocks. Or if something break, you don't have to print the entire formicarium again. You need a sheet of 2mm (acrylic-) glass. I drilled a hole in the center through the glass and the formicarium to hold the sheet in place (not shown in the pictures). Alternatively, you can glue the sheet. Print Settings Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Notes: Some small supports are needed. The rows in the bottom of the chamber and base are there to prevent warping. Post-Printing You maybe have to file a bit to get the top and bottom together.
