Formula 550 (Stretched Quad)

Here is a complete quad design that I have done. The quad has very wide arms and is ideal for mounting a gimbal and camera. It also maintains the X layout for perfect stability and has a diagonal motor to motor size of 560mm making it more stable in windy flights. The top is designed to be sleek and aerodynamic for fast forward flying. I have included a gimbal mount that fits between the front arms and on my quad does not suffer from jello even though it is hard mounted. I designed the chassis to easily hold a 20c 4S 5000mah battery for long flight times, and there is also room infront of the battery to mount fpv video tx and telemetry radio between the battery and the gimbal mount. Here is a video of mine flying FPV. http://youtu.be/gogIP8V3nAY I have included two chassis designs. One is for arms with M3 holes and the other is for arms with M2.5 holes. There is also a flight controller mount that I use the blue anti vibration mounts from hobby king and also add 10 - 20gram of weight to the bottom of the controller mount for extra damping effect. The body has blocks that you can mount it to the chassis with velcro. The body was a bit of a cow to print but it did come out fine with no raft or supports. There were quate a few strands that I had to clean up on the inside that had dropped through but at you can see, the outside is fine and strong enough. I have also included some landing legs that are a tight push fit onto the chassis between the arm pillars. I would recommend a pinch bolt through the leg mounts to hold them firmly. You will have to drill the holes for the pinch bolts once on the chassis. There is also a gimbal controller board case for you to mount your gimbal controller to the underside of the quad. Hope you all enjoy. Please post pictures if you make one. Instructions I do not use rafts or supports for any of these parts. Arm mounting holes should be tapped with an M3 tap. Gimbal mounting holes are also ready for M3 tap and also gimbal controller mounting board holes. If you prefer you can use self tapping screws but that is your choice. Make sure you clean your printing bed well with acetone. This will really help hold the parts to the bed and help prevent curling. Also make sure print bed to extruder gap is set correctly.
