Fountain Pen Holder

<p>I wanted an holder for my fountain pen with a sort of “floaty” look. I wished the pen to be standing upright with a slight inclination, well visible and without any obstruction to the light refracting through it (since, well, I have a transparent pen).</p><p>Any resemblance to the desk lamp I have nearby is just a coincidence ;)</p><p>I also like to mix light wood with the white PLA, here I used a 70 mm cylinder and a 8 mm diameter rod I found in my local DIY shop that should be fairly common I think. The only woodworking required is cutting the rod in two pieces of 60 mm and 40 mm length.&nbsp;</p><p>I included the STLs for those too so the model is fully 3D printable in any colour combination.</p><p><strong>Printing Suggestions</strong></p><p>No supports are needed for the join and holder pieces. The join has some easy bridging, it should not give any issue when printed. The base connector needs supports only in the first layer, see at the screenshot for orientation and support settings for the connector base.</p><p>I used a 0,3 mm nozzle with 0,2 mm level height, but I don't expect a 0,4 mm nozzle to have any difficulty.</p><p><strong>Assembly Suggestions</strong></p><p>It needs some glue to be spread between the base and the flat surface of the base connector. For better stability add a bit of glue also on the other parts. You don't have to add glue to the pen holder, so you can swap it with another one to fit another pen, but if you add the glue there it will be more stable; in the pictures I did not put any glue there (but I did in the other parts).</p><p><strong>Custom Diameters</strong></p><p>The diameter of the holder can be customized in the blender model in case the ones are already prepared are not good (I made them from 10.5 mm to 14 mm with a 0.5 mm step).</p>
