FOV Innovation prize.

I was asked to make a design for this years FOV innovation prize. FOV stands for " the federation of entrepreneurs" The entrepreneur with the best idea (innovation) of this year will win this prize. The only instruction was to keep as close as possible to the original logo and to have a modern touch.... The logo incorporates the 9 competing villiages, our island of Walcheren and a referal to the sea...... This plague will be fixed on a very old piece of oak wood retrieved from the earth while restoring an old naval dock. This piece is my entry...the lasercut 1mm plate representing the island will be mounted on a sheet of patinated copper. The copper will be the link between the old wood and the modern (linen finish) 316 stainless steel sheet. Holes in the plates will represent the villiages and a stylistic wave is cut into the both plates. I hope it will be appreciated by the FOV-people.
