I've given up on this project. After 4 screens from Adafruit and only one working reliably, I decided that it was time to cut my losses and order some fatsharks. The design of these goggles worked great, though the plate needs to be about 5mm further from the screen. I'll leave this up here in case someone wants to carry this project on, but I'm not going to be that someone. FPV goggles for flying rc (or really anything). It uses two 2.5" screens from adafruit and a pair of Zoomies glasses. The rear element of a pair of zoomies has a focal length around 2". This print will allow you to place the two screens, and install a pair of zoomies at the exact distance and location. adafruit displays: http://www.adafruit.com/products/912 zoomies: http://www.amazon.com/Allstar-Mark-Zoomies-Hands-Binoculars/dp/B00DVQF1F4 The 123d design file is included, with all sketches of solids if you'd like to make changes or improve. Feel free to do whatever you want with it. The inspiration for this build was found at the fpvlab forum. An excellent repository for ideas on DIY setups: http://fpvlab.com/forums/showthread.php?12272-DIY-Goggles-and-Head-mountable-displays.......ideas-and-projects Instructions I printed it on a makerbot replicator 2, with 5% infill and .3 layer height using PLA. I cut out the front elements of the zoomies so the only thing I had was the lens and its housing.
