FPV Ground recording station for Connex HD, Mini and Prosight

When the new Connex HD FPV system for small quads and racing drones comes out, the Connex Prosight, there is no onboard recording facility as a non-recording factory supplied camera is used. As it is a lossless HD downlink this need not be a problem as the footage can be recorded on the ground. I used a Hauppage Rocket PVR which compares very well with the cheaper "Gameboy" HD recorders. It is a bit more expensive but works well with the Connex. I have tried it on the full HD system and it works well and there is no reason it should not work with the Mini or Prosight when it comes out. The printed box can be mounted on the tripod as shown and simply serves to tidy the cables and batteries etc. which otherwise would form a tangled heap on the ground. I clamped mine to the side of the tripod but if there is any need I will design another to use the camera mount of the tripod. Once set up all that is required to record is to hit the big red button!
