This is a tool designed to assist in hanging picture frames. Specifically, it's intended for frames that lack pre-installed hanging hardware - the tool will simultaneously mark the spot where to drive the nail into the wall and where to attach the hanging device. The tool was created with the depicted hanger hardware in mind and happens to be used on a shadow box; however, it should also work effectively on a standard picture frame equipped with any type of hardware that features a nail slot accompanied by screws positioned above and below it. If your frame already comes equipped with hanging hardware, you can still use this tool - simply input the location of the existing hardware into the customizer, remove some of the thumb tacks as needed, and the tool will accurately determine where to place the nail.
