I was inspired by Michael's video on Teaching Tech with his filament sensor setup. Check out his video below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwHpXaj_6xE This printer design uses a similar setup but mounts the filament sensor to the frame of the printer, allowing it to double as a filament guide. The design allows for flexible mounting options based on your filament path, making it compatible with most standard aluminum extrusion used in 3D printing. It has been tested successfully on the Creality CR-10 and Ender 3 printers. To build this design, you will need the following materials: 1 Microswitch (available at the link below) 1 M3x8 bolt 1 M3 nut 2 M4x12 bolts 2 M4 T-Nuts PTFE tubing (I used the CR-10's standard tubing) You can purchase the specific micro switch I designed this print for at Amazon through this link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BL33XXT/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B07BL33XXT&linkCode=as2&tag=firehammerdes-20&linkId=46b87aeb3e72dbaa7e3e519616fc1c0c If you found this design useful, please consider donating what it's worth to my PayPal account at paypal.me. This will help cover the time I invested in designing it.
