Frankenstien Bolt

Frankenstien Bolt

I work as a university Physics technician and am often seen wandering about the labs in a white lab coat. Having had a bit of a crazy weekend that involved stupidity, crocs, a ladder and a hospital visit, I had no time to get a Halloween costume together so late last night I threw this together in Fusion 360. I had a piece of 1/8 in aluminium rod laying about which I bent mostly by hand to fit around the back of my head and over my ears rather than over my head like an Alice band. I then bent the two right angle bits about 20mm long using a little jig I have (pictured) to hold the bolt bits. The radius of the bend is approximately 3/8 in along the centre of the rod. Not critical though, it will still work if it is a tighter bend. The two ends of the bolt press onto the rod tightly enough that I did not need to glue them. The nut has about a 0.2mm larger dia than the bolt and easily fits the threaded bolt. I have long unruly hair so it hides the rod well. I think the overall effect is good with very little work. Oh and yes I know Frankenstein actually had more like a pin that went through his neck, but I didn't have the time required for that makeup! If you're stuck for a costume this is quick! ## Settings - Printed in Black PLA on an Artillery sidewinder X1. - Sliced with Cura at 0.2mm layer height and 10 percent infill. - Printed with a brim, though you likely don't need it. - Takes 3 hours and 33minutes to print on my printer.
