After watching Maxfliart launch his free flight glider with a modified indoor winder, I was inspired to make a fully 3D printable version. Google Maxfliart and watch some amazing flying and building videos. Thanks to janssen86, the gears were generated using his Openscad software:-https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1587846 The winch has a 10:1 ratio and turning the crank 1 revolution per second produces a good walking pace speed. The winch so far has not been tested with a glider. My version was printed on a Fortus 380mc in ABS and as yet I have not printed a PLA version. Below is the list of items needed to complete the winch, all readily available. 4 Off 10x15x4 Bearings 3 Off 5x10x4 Bearings 8 Off M3x16 Countersunk Screws (Lid) 1 Off M3x8 Grub Screw (Spool Gear) 5mm Dia x 20 Silver Steel (Drill Rod) Flat one end for grub screw. 4mm protruding from face of spool gear.
