These are some replacement parts for the standing poles wire mesh hanging racks. It's a little hard to describe these things in English, and even in Japanese, they don't seem to have a standard name that I can find easily. I bought my original set at Home Center Kohnan. After a couple of years, the plastic support and connecting parts all started breaking. I have herbs and spices in various jars and cans as well as some cooking utensils hanging on my rack, but they can be used for all sorts of things if you get the hanging baskets and some hooks. These are the replacement pieces I've made so far: - Height locking piece that fits between inner and outer poles - A 2 part* version of the wire mesh mounting brackets for the poles *The reason I made it in two parts is because the part that slips over the pole needs a different printing orientation for maximum strength compared to the part that holds the wire meshes up. You're free to remix it back into one piece if you want. I designed these parts in OpenSCAD, and I'll add those files once I clean them up a bit. I had started designing it to be parametric, but basically they come in one size, so since they fit and work perfectly IMO, it's a little pointless to do. I started hardcoding values at the end to get my rack fixed faster. Be sure to orient the pieces the correct way and most of it won't need supports. The tongue and groove bit is the only thing that requires support, but you could probably get away without it, especially if you file it to fit while cleaning up the print. Printing orientations: Round pole holes should be open on the top and bottom. The rectangular C shaped bracket for the mesh should rest so the C shape is visible from above. This should prevent de-lamination of layers due to weight being applied improperly to the part. Cleanup: Use 3mm and 4mm drill bits to round out and smooth out the holes for screws. A metal file can quickly clean up the tongue and groove for keeping the 2 parts steady. Assembly: As this is designed to be replacement parts, I reused the screws and nuts that were present in the old broken parts. They still work just fine. The Height locking sleeve even reused the brass heat insert threads. If you don't have originals that you're replacing, but you're building from scratch, please check back and I'll have files more suitable for that. Of course you can also buy the brass insert threads. In addition to the hardware from the old parts, for each wire mesh bracket you print, you'll need: 1 x M3 6mm screw 1 x M3 flat square nut If you don't have the old hardware, again, check back later and I'll have replacement parts for that, but for now you can use: 1 x M4 15mm screw (or same size hex bolt for use with my upcoming parts) 1 x M4 flat square nut I think that's basically it. I'll recheck things a few times over the next few days and update anything that needs it. Feel free to comment with questions.
