This is my design for a filament holder. The additional purchase of 2 packs of these (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Prime-Line-1-1-4-in-Patio-Roller-Kit-2-per-package-D-1796/100574233) bearing or anything with a .375 dia axel will work(its tight a couple passes with the knife and it will press in). This design allows the reel to spin freely. Ive used it mostly on HatchBox Pla reels. 1/2 kg reels, I have to pull the reel mount out of the base to get it to fit.
