<p>FreeCAD GCode import Python module.</p><p>Imports 3D GCode from Slic3r and Skeinforge (RepRap) as groups (layers) and 3D wires (poly-lines) in FreeCAD document.</p><p>In FreeCAD you have the full power of a CAD application to visualize the generated pathways.</p><p>FreeCAD can import and export a lot of common file formats, including .STL format.</p><h3>Instructions</h3><p>FreeCAD is a general purpose Open Source 3D CAD/MCAD/CAx/CAE/PLM modeler, aimed directly at mechanical engineering and product design but also fits a wider range of uses in engineering, such as architecture or other engineering specialties.</p><p><strong>Installation:</strong></p><p><strong>1)</strong> Install latest version of FreeCAD (version 0.12).<br><strong>2)</strong> Download the GCode.zip file from this page.<br><strong>3)</strong> Unpack and copy files to ../FreeCAD0.12/Mod/GCode directory.<br><strong>4)</strong> Start FreeCAD and choose File->Open to open*.gcode files.</p><p>Extruding moves is shown in dark and non extruding in light grey. Each group (layer) is named Layer_xxxx, where xxxx is the extruding height in 1/100 mm.</p><p>To see individual extruding layers (groups) use the toggle/hide/show visibility option in Edit->Visibility sub menu.</p><p>This GCode import filter has been inspired by the Blender add-on found at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6236</p><p>The GCode import filter is written in Python from ground up as a learning exercise (Python is new to me :).</p><p><i><strong>>> If you like it, please leave a like, rating or a tip... :)</strong></i></p>
With this file you will be able to print FreeCAD GCode import for Slic3r and Skeinforge with your 3D printer.
