FreeCAD parametric snap lid box - part design model

thingiverse

This is a parametric box with a snap-fit lid in FreeCAD using the part design methodology. It's a nice thing to have if you're designing custom project boxes etc, as it gets the tedium of the box out of the way so you can concentrate on pockets etc for switches, dials, etc. To use this, make a copy of the freecad file and edit the copy. You'll find a spreadsheet with values in it. The ones with a light green value are the ones you're most likely to want to adjust. The dark green ones are also adjustable but maybe less interesting. The yellow ones are calculated. Alter the values as required to get the box you're after, then do whatever else you need for your project. Once you're happy, render STLs using mesh workbench, export, and print. Note: the fit of the lid in V2 is a bit too snug. V2.1 changes the lid a little bit and adds a parameter to the spreadsheet.
