Freedom: The Underground Railroad Slave Catcher Pawns

Freedom: The Underground Railroad Slave Catcher Pawns

thingiverse

Early editions of Academy Games "Freedom: The Underground Railroad" included wooden pawns in the five shapes (triangle, square, circle, oval, pentagon). Later and current editions simply include a cardboard token to represent these figures. I wanted to make something more unique than a simple extruded shape for use in the game, so I designed these. The base has Roman column design with the shape set atop each. Each shape is a different color as follows: (oval = purple, pentagon = blue, triangle = yellow, square = brown, circle = orange). These correspond to the die rolled in game to control movement of these pawns. Print Settings Printer: Micro3D Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: Medium Infill: Hollow, Thick Walls Notes: Used white PLA from BAMTACK at 210 degrees C. Post-Printing Painting I left the layered look, no smoothing and primed mine with artist gesso. I painted each of the columns in a gunmetal gray, then drybrushed on a metallic copper. The bases are in pure black. Each shape I painted the appropriate color, then finished each with a coat of Mod Podge gloss.
