This is a 3d printed Friction Fit Captive Nut Tester. You can print it out to test your printers ability to print parts that can have a nut embedded by pressing it in after the print. This is modeled in OpenSCAD & can be used with the customizer. You can change the rows, columns, size/diameter of the holes etc.. ### FAQ's: #### Q:How do I use this? To embed a nut in the print you can press it in & use a screw driver and bold to screw it in. #### Q: What do the rows do? The rows control the diameter of the hole used to cut the hexagons. You can go into row setting to see what the specific diameter is set to. By default the parameters are for 8/32 threaded nuts. Making this too small will prevent the nut from seating in place and could crack the plastic if you try to force it in. Making this too big will make the nut fall out of the part. #### Q: What do the columns do? The columns control the size of the thru hole in the middle of the hexagon. You can see what the column settings are and change them as needed. Making this too small will make the bolt thread into the plastic and make it hard to unscrew. Making this too big will prevent the nut from seating in place. #### Q: Why do I want to print this? If you want to fit multiple parts together in your own cad designs using nuts you should test what sizes to use for the diameter. Instead of re-printing your part over&over you can use this instead. It also has the benefit of having multiple settings in one print, so you just have to try a different row/column section. #### Q: Customizer doesn't show the print, how do I fix this? You can try changing the settings, sometimes when it firsts opens it doesn't show the part. Alternatively use the pre-made stl files or download OpenSCAD & customize from there.
