Front guard / visor for Makita Router / Trimmer

Front guard / visor for Makita Router / Trimmer

thingiverse

Not sure what the exact Makita model is, but this was designed to fit a Makita 1/4 inch router (which I believe is called a Router Trimmer) - small router. You will also need M3 countersunk screws, or you could change the file in Fusion to remove the countersink, either way the screw holes on the router mount are 3mm screws exactly 70mm apart to the centres. The visor leaves a small gap but it does the majority of sawdust getting out. THIS IS NOT A SAFETY DEVICE and may not protect you against snapped router bits flying out of the router as there is still a small opening. However I position the vacuum over this hole and don't put my hand the other side, to give a feeling of safety. 41 minutes to print at 0.3 layer height and speeds adjusted up on the Prusa i3 MK3S. Printed in PETG of course, as this is slightly more temperature resistant, although the part shouldn't get hot in normal use.
