A series of modifications to a standard X9E tray radio allowing easier access to the left-hand joystick for a modeller with severe physical disability. Could also be used to add a third joystick to the transmitter for gimbal control. Standard left hand joystick is removed (together with metal ring) from inside the radio, and a blank placed over the hole. Joystick rehoused in a slide fit enclosure which attaches to the transmitter on a hot shoe (hot shoe replaces standard palm rests and uses same bolt pattern). There are multiple holes to allow location at different positions on the side of the radio. Stock 4 wires to the joystick extended via a Multiplex plug to allow removal of the box, meaning that the standard radio still fits in carry case – additional cover required for extended box. Transmitter also has hot shoe on the back to allow it to be docked to a tripod made from 20 x 20 mm extrusion. This also fits into a printed bracket attached to the wheelchair taking the weight of the whole transmitter.
