The original tool was created by Bugwrencher. It saved my bacon. The one "flaw" it had was it was pretty much just for barbs. I've made it modular so it can mostly replicate the 250 dollar Dorman tool it's inspired by. You can now install flare fittings, barbs, and regular quick connects or 90 degree quick connects. The piston is slotted so you can press a pre-made line with a fitting onto another existing line. The new secondary tapered clamp is to insert a barb between two lines. You can add the alignment pegs to the print in your choice of software; but I found printing them seperately at 100% infill then using plastic adhesive to secure them, made for a much stronger connection. I also slimmed his clamps down so that it would fit in 9" guns more easily. 40% infill works well, but I suggest 60% and 1.2mm walls for longevity. Thanks again to Bugwrencher for making an awesome thing, and helping out my wallet! To use: Match the fitting you want to install with the appropriate insert. Next, just fit the insert onto the piston. Important: Use oil on both the fitting and line. For installing barbs between 2 lines, use the normal clamp, the tapered clamp, and the piston with no insert. Barbs should be installed on the main line first and have the line to be joined pressed on after. Make sure the line curves up and out of the piston slot and doesn't crimp. For a 90 degree, place the fitting in the insert and use a zip-tie to snug it down tight. Install is then the same for a straight fitting. Bolts are 1/4" x 1 1/2". 2/22/20 - Added 90 degree insert & clearer instructions 2/24/20 - Tool has now installed at least 2 of each fitting; and no signs of wear. Added bolt dimensions to summary 2/28/20 - Added 3/8" 90 degree insert and 3/8" clamp.
