Full Gauntlet Fingers (blank) (piece 3 of 3)

thingiverse

I made a full chainmail gauntlet version of the gauntlet fingers I did a while back. I'm uploading it in three parts because Thingiverse is being difficult. EDIT: I am now breaking it down into one version at a time because Thingiverse is being VERY difficult. Instructions: To make one gauntlet, print three fingers, one thumb, one pinky, one chain, and one bracelet. The fingers, thumb, pinky and bracelet are symmetrical, but the chains each have a right-handed and left-handed version. The fingers, pinky, and thumb are designed to be slightly smaller than what will fit most people, but they can be heated and softened with a heat gun or hair dryer to mold them to the dimensions of your hand. Just heat them enough to soften the plastic slightly, put them on and take them off a couple times, reheating them in between, until the fit is correct. Be careful not to burn yourself, obviously. I've only tried this with PLA, but PLA gets plenty pliable when it's only warm enough to be barely uncomfortable. After that, you can attach the fingers and bracelet to the chainmail. The chainmail should have three links with small gaps along the bottom (these three form a straight line with each other), four open links at the top (these four do not form a straight line, they go up and then down), and one open link on a jutting piece off to the side (left or right). The bracelet attaches to the three bottom links (press the gap of one link to the gap of another to connect them, they should snap into place). The thumb attaches to the side gap-link, the three fingers attach to the three top gap-links closest to the thumb, and the pinky attaches to the fourth top gap-link. If it's uncomfortable to wear, take it off and sand whichever part is uncomfortable until it is better. I intend to add more versions of the fingers, and possibly the bracelet and chainmail as well. Stay tuned! In the meantime, feel free to get creative with the 'blank' versions of each file, as they are intended as blank templates for you to make your own edits to this gauntlet.
