The beauty of this set is that it has self contained storage and you can even save your game! Each board piece has a little hole in the middle, as do the chess pieces themselves. If you have to pack up your game before you are done playing, you can just start stacking the board pieces with the chess piece still inside and then use a string or similar to link all of the pieces together. Then, when you have made it to camp, or landed, just un-string all of the pieces in the reverse order and put your board back together. This set is strictly a utilitarian chess set so fanciness was kept to a minimum for quick and simple printing. You will notice there are a bunch of different files for the different side and corner pieces. Make sure you count properly when printing - or print some extras incase you lose some (the beauty of making your own pieces) Instructions chess_pieces_layout.stl (https://tinkercad.com/things/3VkAwaFB2JT) - print 1 set in one color and 1 set in another color travel_chess_set_square.stl (https://tinkercad.com/things/kwbmmScqa74) - print 18 in one color and 18 in another color for the interior squares --this is where it gets tricky and maybe one day I will make it easier and more clear. travel_chess_set_edge.stl (https://tinkercad.com/things/7bgffrJSptZ) - Print 12 of single cutout pieces (6 in each color) and 6 of each 2 cutout pieces (3 of each color) travel_chess_set_corner.stl (https://tinkercad.com/things/i9X1dSlazFT) - Wait until the end to print these to make sure you get the right colors. print 1 of the 2 cutout piece, 2 of the 1 cutout pieces, and 1 of the 0 cutout pieces (2 tabs). Maybe there's a better cutout/tab layout, but this seemed easiest to me at the time. Please feel free to derive and fix.
