this product uses high torque digital servo motors to intelligently deploy landing gear on both sides of the bicycle. the motors initiate automatically once motion sensors detect that the rider has dismounted. the stand also retracts automatically once forward motion is detected. all automations are preluded by audio feedback. the system can share power from an existing bicycle headlight system, since it only draws power before and after a ride. however, a dedicated battery is available as an option. when the pivot arms touch ground, the bike is lifted up and over, just enough to lock the stand into a stable position. there is a mechanical stop at the end of the rotation range which retains the bicycle from further movement. to retract the stand, you push the bike forward several centimeters, thus re-pivoting the bike and unlocking the stand. the resulting motion of the servo motor causes a reverse current that wakes up the intelligent system which then fully retracts the stand. the system can be attached or removed in minutes using no tools. it soft mounts at three locations using integrated compact hand twist knobs. the product has a lightweight yet stiff aluminium frame. the contact end of the pivots are made of the same sticky rubber that is used for the soles of rock climbing shoes. there are polyurethane bushings at all mounting points, which come in several interchangeable shapes to ensure perfect fit on any bicycle. the product pictured is for a 26" wheel. for other wheel sizes, only the length of the pivot arm is different.
