If you are looking for more, check out our premium projects:</p> <p><a href="https://codeandmake.com/premium">https://codeandmake.com/premium</a></p> <h3>OpenSCAD Customizer Options</h3> <p>This design has the following Customizer options:</p> <h3>General</h3> <ul> <li>Sphere_Diameter - Diameter of the sphere</li> <li>Material_Thickness - Thickness of the material</li> </ul> <h3>Rings</h3> <ul> <li>Rings_Vertical - Number of vertical rings</li> <li>Rings_Horizontal - Number of horizontal rings</li> </ul> <h3>Hole</h3> <ul> <li>Hole_Diameter - Diameter of the hole through the center</li> <li>Central_Cylinder - Add a central cylinder?</li> </ul> <h3>You will need</h3> <p>You also will need:</p> <ul> <li>2x split rings (e.g. 15mm, 20mm or 25mm) - You can use a carabiner clip as well as (or instead of) the top split ring</li> <li>1x small rubber band, length of elastic, hair tie or something similar to thread through the toy and attach to the split rings</li> <li>1x accessory, such as a liberty bell (e.g. 30mm) or a mirror - these can be picked up from pet or craft stores, or you could salvage an accessory from another pet toy</li> </ul> <h3>Design Considerations</h3> <p>Consider adding a Central_Cylinder for easier printing and threading. If you choose not to add a Central_Cylinder, we recommend printing with tree supports.</p> <h3>Material</h3> <p>This design is perfect for printing in most filaments.</p> <h3>Versions</h3> <ul> <li>1.0 (13 Apr 2021) - Initial version</li> </ul> <h3>Printing</h3> <p>Recommended slicer settings:</p> <ul> <li>Resolution: 0.1mm - 0.2mm</li> <li>Infill: ~50% recommended.</li> <li>Supports: Yes. We recommend tree supports, especially if you chose not to add a Central_Cylinder.</li> <li>Rafts: Possibly required to help tree supports adhere to the print bed.</li> </ul> <h3>Finishing</h3> <ol> <li>Remove the outer support material</li> <li>Use long, thin tweezers to remove any remaining support material from inside the toy</li> <li>Use a deburring tool, small file and/or sand paper to remove any remaining support material</li> <li>Rinse with clean water to remove any plastic dust particles</li> <li>Once dry, check there are no rough edges. If there are, repeat the steps above.</li> <li>Thread the rubber band (of whatever you choose to attach the split rings) with something long and thin, such as a large needle, skewer or piece of wire.
